Miss Frederick County Fair Scholarship Pageant

Rules and Regulations
- Contestants must be residents of Frederick County or the City of Winchester.
- Contestants must be single females, never married, and without children. They must be between the ages of 16-22. Contestants must be at least 16 years of age by the time they compete in the Miss Frederick County Fair Scholarship Pageant.
- Contestants must be of good moral character; never been convicted of a crime or have had any criminal charges pending against them. Contestants should not have engaged in any activities that are characterized as dishonest, immoral, or indecent. The Frederick County Fair Queen serves as an ambassador for the Fair.
- Contestants will be judged by a point system based on poise, personality, speaking ability and overall appearance. Personality and poise will include ability to converse with others with proper diction and clarity of voice.
- Contestants will be judged in Personality Wear, Evening Gown and by an interview. The interview attire should be business wear.
- Contestants must prepare a one-minute platform speech on a topic of their choice.
- Contestants must participate in the Fair. (Examples: volunteer, show animals, prepare a craft or food to be judged.)
- The winner will reign over the 2008 Frederick County Fair.
- The winner will assist with the 2008 Tiny Miss Pageant.
- The winner is required to compete in the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs Scholarship Pageant in January 2009.
- The winner will be required to ride on the Frederick County Fair float in the 2009 Apple Blossom Parade.
- The winner will be expected to crown the new queen in the 2009 Miss Frederick County Fair Scholarship Pageant.
- The Frederick County Fair Association will approve the participation of the winner in any event as a representative of the Frederick County Fair. Additional entries in pageants must not interfere with your responsibilities as Miss Frederick County Fair.
- A $500.00 certificate will be awarded to the winner to be used toward the furthering of their education.
- A sponsor fee of $30.00 is required from each contestant and is not refundable. This fee must be paid by cash or certified check made payable to Frederick County Fair.
- Please bring a picture to registration for entry into the newspaper. No pictures will be accepted after July 20, 2008.
- No one will be allowed backstage after pageant has begun.

Application date: June 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Fair Office
Required rehearsal date: July 25, 2008 at 5:00 PM at the small south lawn stage
Pageant date: July 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM (Please arrive by 6:30 PM)
Interviews will be held in the Ruritan Building and times will be discussed at the rehearsal. In case of rain, report to Stonewall School for the pageant.
